This three week class with Artist Marah Johnson will help guide you through the collage process, from backgrounds to imagery to finishing touches.
If you love getting your fingers full of paint, ink and glue this is certainly the class for you. We will be using loads of Twinkling H20’s, Silks Acrylic Glaze, paints and more…
Over the course of the workshop Marah will provide you with plenty of inspiration in PDF format as well as a videos to view techniques in real time. Each week will bring you a step close to your finished project or projects…if you are anything like Marah you work on several projects at the same time
Class fee includes Collage Art to download for use in class.
Week 1----Getting Started (the why’s of Supplies) and Backgrounds
a. understanding your supplies
b. water color wash background
c. creating your own resist background
d. deconstruct and reconstructed backgrounds
e. everything but the kitchensink back ground
f. found textures back ground
g. home work for next week.
Week 2----Collage Art on your Background pieces from the week prior
a. faces
b. Arrangement and placement, understanding balance
c. Accessories, creating hats Jewelry etc
Week 3----Whimsical Drawing/Finishing touches
a. Drawing exercises
b. Adding henna like doodles to your collage faces
c. Adding finishing touches to your master pieces
